Nearly 40 % of students and 72 % of teachers of vocational educational institutions reported that they are aware of the facts of the participation of persons under 18 in hostilities.
This data is published in the research “Risk of Involvement of children: armed forces and/or groups: case study and recommendations” carried out by the Danish Refugee Council.
The analysis also showed that the number of adolescents who are “morally ready” to the involvement in hostilities varies from 27 % to 30 %, i. e. every third adolescent under certain circumstances is ready to take part in hostilities. At the same time, the danger threshold in adolescents varies depending on the distance from the demarcation line. The farther from the line, the higher the threshold is; on the contrary, the closer to the line, the lower the threshold is.
The main objective of the research was to investigate different types of risks for adolescents (girls and boys) studying at vocational schools of the Region of Donetsk associated with the location of such schools in close proximity to the area of the armed conflict.
